I have always been fascinated by the ancient Egyptian civilization. And of course, mythology.

Ancient Egypt is known for its advances in many things. Not to mention the famous Moses was Egyptian.

Today we are looking at the life lessons of the Gods, Goddesses, pyramids, pharaohs and more.

Anubis

My man and the reason I started loving ancient Egypt. Anubis is the God of the dead, mummification and embalming. He was associated with death and the afterlife.

Lessons

  • When death comes, you will be judged on what you did in the living world
  • the afterlife does not come easy
  • Call upon Anubis so he can help guide you and your loved ones into the afterworld

Ancient Egyptian beliefs

While the ancient Egyptians believed in many things, their belief in the afterlife is one of the most known. Egyptian religious doctrines included three afterlife ideologies: belief in an underworld, eternal life, and rebirth of the soul.

Lessons

  • Again, what you do in the living world helps determine what happens to you in the afterlife
  • have a good heart
  • the journey to the afterlife is dangerous but worth it

Hold animals as high regards

Many ancient Egytians believed that animals had superpowers and were Gods in their previous life.

You can tell they loved animals by the amount of Gods represented by animals. Most famous being Anubis aka part jackle and human. Your Egypt Tours has a great article on the God animals- here

Many Egyptians also believed in animal reincarnation.

Fun fact- cats are so valued in ancient Egypt that you would be killed if you murdered a cat even by accident

Pharaoh’s

You may have heard of the famous King Tutankhamun, the most famous of them all. Due to his nearly intact body in his tomb,

Egyptians believed their pharaoh to be the mediator between the gods and the world of men. Like a king or a president of the times.

Lessons

  • As Spidemans uncle once said ‘With great power comes great responsibility’
  • know your responsibilities
  • Do not be afraid to ask for help
  • you will be rewarded for your great deeds

More lessons-

Did you know ancient Egyptians had scribes who are basically record keepers? Basically saying journaling is good

Fair and decent treatment of inferiors should be accepted

Good and just people will prevail

Obey your superiors aka pharaohs or even cops, parents, teachers and others

Adopt self-discipline

Women has rights

Conclusion

While ancient Egypt only lasted 3000 years, they prevailed in many lessons we know today. The ancient Egyptians were pioneers in architecture, medicine and mathematics. They invented the calendar, ways to measure distances, improvements in irrigation, medical surgery and also applied their knowledge to architecture.

Learn the past in order to learn the now and the future.
