Pride Month- Real-Life Tips for LGBT

Before you come at me I thought queer was bisexual, gay or lesbian. I also have no clue what I and A stand for. It really does not matter as everyone is human.

June is national pride month.

So let us celebrate this occasion by being nice 24/7 and everyday.

The History of pride month

We celebrate pride month of the Stonewall Uprising.

On June 28, 1969, patrons of the Stonewall Inn, a popular bar with a diverse LGBTQ clientele, stood their ground after police raided the establishment. The resulting clash led to days of riots and protests, known as the Stonewall Uprising.

One year later, on the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, thousands of people flooded the streets of Manhattan in the Christopher Street Gay Liberation Day March, regarded as the first gay pride event ever.

In 1999, President Bill Clinton officially declared June as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, setting aside the month as a time to recognize the LGBTQ community’s achievements and support the community.

Tips for the LGBT community

Not everyone is going to be ok but that is ok

The reality is 30% of people dislike LGBT people. Especially people who put a label on themselves for no reason.

What makes us humans is our ability to like or not like what we want. That and we speak English.

It does not matter if John does not like you. Or even your parents. Try as they may, you can not be changed.

You are not your sexual orientation

Just because you may be gay or something does not mean you are any less human or just gay.

Just because I self-harm does not mean I am less of a human or just a person who self-harms.

It does not matter who you find sexually attractive or fall in love with. What matters is the type of person you are.

If you are nice, supportive, non-toxic…

Do not be afraid to be yourself

As I said above, not everyone is going to be accepting of your choice.

There are soo many people who will love you for who you are. You just need to find them

Ignore the haters

What really is the main key besides being yourself is to ignore the haters.

Many people are afraid of what they do not know. Many go by an outdated Bible. If God truly loves all his beings then why does he not accept men and men or women and women being together? Maybe God was gay and scared of people knowing so he said it was a sin.

Do not judge

The most important part is not judging someone based on gender, age, sexuality… Remember we are all humans and should be treated as such.

Donate to the community

Ok so maybe your friends are evil and you want to impress them by pretending to hate LGBT people. Fine, you can ditch them asap. If you choose to stay their friend then you can donate to show your support.

What is great about donating is that it is anonymous which means no one will know.
