The Top Stationery Supplies You Should Own

So you decided to start a journal. Congratulations!!!!

You need some supplies whether you are a new journalist or expert.

No matter what you are using your notebook for, you are going to need the right supplies. Luckily for you, I am a hoarder of all things stationery supplies. I have about 40 notebooks, 40pens, markers and everything else.

Notebook

Think you got the right notebook? Well, it really depends on what you like and what you are using it for.

For instance- a person wanting to bullet journal may wish to get a notebook with dotted pages. These are great for knowing how big to make boxes for calendars and such.

An artist would want a blank page notebook that way the lines won’t mess with their work. This would be called a sketchbook.

Journalists may want a regular lined notebook for writing.

Maybe you want a notebook with lines but also have blank pages

Maybe you want to be funky and have a notebook with colored pages. YES PLEASE

Just make sure your notebook has thick pages. Thin pages will make your text look terrible.

Pens

Essential for any journaling needs. You don’t want a pen that bleeds through the page.

Or a pen that makes it look like the words are coming out of the back of the page

Colored pens are great when you want to add some fun to the pages.

Washi Tape

What the heck is washi tape? A question all you newbies may be asking. Well, technically it is tape but nice looking.

We use it to decorate our pages. They make them in various designs, sizes, shapes and colors. It is really easy to just go out and buy a ton.

The great thing about washi tape is they usually sell them in bulk. Take this for example 48 count for a little over $10. What a deal

Markers

Again like the pen, you don’t want markers that bleed through pages.

Do you want bright or neon, thin or thick?  Do you want one with a brush tip to draw? So many choices.

Other Goods

Stickers– cheap, placeable anywhere and easily hoarded 

Highlighters– Is there anything better than highlighting words in yellow? I think not

Stencils– these come in handy if you are like me and can’t draw for beans but still want to make your journal look cute

Ruler– When you least expect it do you need a ruler
